YOU GUYS!

It's below freezing outside, but I legitimately have a garden update! My first Hatch chile turned red!

I honestly didn't even know that would happen; I thought they stayed green. 😂 It's a learning experience for me!

Here are my other two chiles. Grow, babies, grow! 💜

I just had to share because I saw that and got so excited. I WILL have yummy chiles from my balcony garden! 😃 Hooray!

In other chile news, I have been concerned that it had some sort of pest (from outside before I brought it in, I presume, and it thrived in the warm apartment). I pruned off several leaves that looked really infested, and it's been needing a lot more water or it gets droopy, fast. So about a week or so ago I was feeding it some crushed eggshells, and upon dumping them in, I discovered a spider had moved in to the pot because the shell dust caught on the web!

Thank you, spider fren, you eat all the chile pests you want! 😊

That Red Fish your momma always warned you about

Awesome chilis! My indoor chili's have crazy aphid problems, perhaps yours duo to? When it warms up outside I'm going to put them in the green house with a bunch of ladybugs!

@amymya plant nasturtium around the peppers in the greenhouse. All the aphids will pick the nastrutium first...every time. Its an easy way to keep them in one spot for the lady bugs!!

Ah ha ha ha ha! I love that comic! It might be aphids, I'm not sure what it is yet. But hopefully the spider is yelling "Die aphid scum!" too. 😂
They started on my balcony last April. Outside we have a lot of Asian beetles (they look like ladybugs, but aren't).

Neem oil works great to keep those predator bugs away, also mold if you have that problem as well. Its organic too.

Thanks for the tip!

Oh ya baby! That chili is ready to eat:):)looking good! That is one happy plant.
Yay little spider dude <3 I love them:)

Enchilaaaaaadaaaaaaas! 😋

Yessss! Do you make your own enchilada sauce??

I sure do! I have a jar of homemade in the fridge right now!

Looking nice, growing our own food is something a lot more people should be thinking about. Nice to read the pest is gone!

Thanks! I try to at least grow a little in my apartment. :)

Wow, thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with us, I'm super stoked for you!!! YAY for plants!!!!!!!

Yay for plants indeed! It's so cool even in the middle of winter. 😃

it is a form of hydroponic garden .. your garden that can complement the needs of vegetables for the needs at home.

Yeah, I'm not sure if there is a good companion plant for chiles, or if it would be too crowded in a pot since I live in an apartment. I will have to look it up!

Perhaps @phoenixwren can grow tomatoes or onion as a new hydroponic plant and as a complement.

so nice my friend @phoenixwren ...

Thanks!

Hi @Phoenixwren. I'm having a contest on my channel, you might find interesting. I hope you check it out.

Done!

Nothing like growing your own food well done.

Thanks!
