I'm pretty sure those are crabapples but I think there are lots of varieties and people use crabapples kind of generically for ornamental blooming trees sometimes.

Yes. Local native tribes used the fruit from manzanita trees (little apples) to poison fish. haha Be careful my friend. They also ate the fruit but there was a long and complicated I think leaching process.
