Mealybug - natural prevention

Like every year, the Mealybug is attacking my vegetable garden, in pretty high numbers.
They like the sunflowers, the parseley and broccoli the most.

The Mealybug destroys leaves, and it is secreting poison that makes the plant grow abnormally with deformed leaves and branches.
It has also developed a symbiosis with ants on which I will elaborate in a seperate article one day :)

So how do you get rid of the Mealybug without using pesticides and chemicals?
One word: LADYBUGS!
The ladybug is a known enemy of the Mealybug, and enough of these will rid of the problem completely.

But how do you attract ladybugs?
Simple, you plant plants they like in your garden, alongside your vegetable.
The ladybugs love the big-leafed plants the one with the closed canopy where they can hide, any or all of these will work great:
Fennel, Dill, Wild celery, Wild Carrot, Milfoil.

Happy Fighting! :)
