Last week we had frost every morning, but at the end of the week temperature was pretty warm. And what did we do? Not cleaning the garden that's for sure π we had bouncy castle up and played with bubbles.
We also went shopping for Halloween costumes and got some hay bales too.
On saturday it was raining all morning, and we said, shoot we never learned, should have cleaned the garden π π π
But lucky later on the sun came up so we folded our folia, put up the bouncy castle to dry and checked on the plants.
Surprisingly the plants survived days of frost. At least the pumpkin, the tomatoes, the strawberry plants, cabbage and kolhrabi. I'd like to think it's due to them planted on the raised beds?
The pineapple we planted back in June is still alive as well, amazing.
On Monday though, the temperature was down to -5 Celcius by 8.30 AM, I'd imagine much colder at dawn time, I didn't check. The plants mostly dying.
Except the cabbage and kohlrabi! Still going strong. Seems like we will have a harvest or two before Halloween is here π
The strawberries are also still alive, but they will not give more fruits for now, that's for sure.
Thanks for looking!
