Experiment With Hydroponics

in gardening •  8 years ago

One of the reasons I encourage everyone to try hydroculture is the sheer amount of fun to be had experimenting with the different systems. Even the experts are constantly experimenting with different systems. Our Table Top Hydroponic System (seen below) came from the idea that we wanted a nice looking system that could sit on our patio table outside. It was our experimental system that worked well for us so now we share it with others that might have the same problem.

Hydroculture is an opportunity to be as creative as you want to be. You can choose the size, shape, color and whatever else you can think of. There are even hydroculture systems that require 0 electricity! Like in the video I linked below. However I do not recommend deep water culture systems with strawberries because they don't like wet roots :-(.

We do sell hydroponic systems but our goal is to help people become more self sufficient anyway we can. So we encourage you to try crafting your own system or purchasing one of ours and begin learning hydroculture.

I have been thinking about this, although I lean more towards aquaponics. I like the addition of fat and protein that fish bring to the equation, as well as the additional input that they can provide.

We are fans of aquaponics and like to experiment with it as well. We currently have 3 aquaponic systems (1 large, 2 small). I can make a post about our aquaponic systems next time.
