I am so excited to go through the week's class. It was so amazing and entertaining. You know, these cooking methods are just what we practice on a daily basis but have been ignorant of the names. I am glad to be a student in the gastronomy lecture...

Hello Teachers, I present my homework below...

Make the mise en place for the recipe (show with 1 photo)

IMG_20240809_182844_828.jpgmise en place for Bandeja Paisa

This is mise en place for Bandeja Paisa a Colombian cuisine. Bandeja Paisa is a collection of local flavors and a much loved national dish, it's a must try I tell you.

Bandeja Paisa features; rice, plantain, beans, avocado, lots of minced meat/ chicken including sausage.

You'll get to know more about Bandeja Paisa...

Explain what cooking method you are using

I used cooking method with moist heat. Since my dish has so much to do with fiber, it requires the use of water or steam to transfer heat to the food.

Cooking my beans with water in a moist heat methodIMG_20240809_190314_381.jpg

This cooking method was the best for this dish since they all contain fiber. With the use of this cooking method, the food would be properly cooked.

Why did you choose this dish? What motivated you to make this recipe?

Just by looking at this dish, I bring a good appetite to the table. I was motivated by just seeing this dish. I thought to myself, "If I can have all classes of food ready in a meal, then this is it; it's a must do.

I began to plan towards making it right in my kitchen. It's time-consuming though, but it's worth it in the end.

Moving around Colombia, I came across this beautiful dish that is not resistable, and I wondered why I've not tried it out. Since the cooking method is moist heat, then it's perfect.

Did you like the result obtained?

Oh yes, I did! I loved the result. Tell me who wouldn't love this Colombian cuisine. Just a glance at it and you are salivating.

This result was wow, beautiful, interesting, and amazing. I saw what I did and I was happy. It gave me joy that I could actually eat a full meal from Colombia cooked right inside my kitchen.

It feels so good to have a taste of other countries's dishes. Let me tell you what: my friend ate this meal with me, and she was satisfied with what she saw.

A big thank you to my teachers. This teaching has greatly improved me, I am happy!

Hey chef Nina….,

I am impressed with your presentation, I have actually eaten this combination of food before (white rice + beans + fried plantain + boiled egg and sauce but without avocado) although I never knew it is Colombian cuisine. All thanks to gastronomy class for being an eye opener for me 😀

I am also getting to know the actual name now too (“Bandeja Paisa”)🤭

Thank you for sharing your cooking methods and many success to you!

I've also eaten this meal several times but didn't know it was Colombian cuisine. I am glad I participated. Thanks for the wishes...

You are welcome 🤗
