Finally it has come to the end of this grastronomy training season. I would say that I have benefited from all the classes as I make out time to take part in all the six classes. The reason because cooking is part of me and I do not take chances when it comes to learning about new recipes.

I've learnt a lot from gastronomy right from season 19 till this season 20

This week was a very interesting one as we learn how to combine drinks with desserts main food or starter we also learnt different types of drinks and then we went ahead to practicalize how to make a drink that goes with a particular type of meal.


Alcoholic or Non-alcoholic drinks, Which is the Best Option for you to Accompany a Meal?


It depends on the type of meal I am eating at a particular time I do go for non-alcoholic drinks mostly. But most times depending on the kind of meals I do also go for alcoholic beverages, This is because not all meal is best for non-alcoholic drinks so in this case I do go for alcoholic drinks but I take it modestly. In everything consumption of every meal or drinks is toxic to our body, so rather than getting drunk while consuming alcoholic drinks I take it modestly. I do take beer, spirit and any other type of alcoholic drink.


Preparation of a non-alcoholic drink


I prepared fruit juice with a combination of 3 fruit that is rich in vitamin c. This drink has a lot of health benefits and it is good for the body, you can combine it with desserts, starter and a main dish.

Ingredients

  • Orange
  • Carambola
  • Watermelon

I peeled and washed my ingredients and share the portion I want to use

I chop the fruits into sizes that will fit in the juice extractor.

I washed my juice extractor and extract the juice

I filter the drink into a glass cup ready to be consumed

Finally, I added a straw to it and placed a slice of cucumber on the glass.

I combined it with pasta cooked with green veggies and egg as protein.

Why Did you Choose this Drink and Dish Combination?


First of all I've already said that this my combination of fruits juice is rich in vitamin c therefore, vitamin c aids in breaking down of food thus, avoiding indigestion and discomfort.

The citrus fruit in this drink, helps in digestion of food and also helps in the absorption of nutrients both from the food and in the juice.

Pasta is high in carbohydrates, therefore it has high calories. It is also high in gluten so taking this orange juice will help prevent gluten.

So because of all this reason I choose this combination so as to blend with the requirements or the needs of the body while taking pasta. So above all, it will help in digestion and absorption of nutrients in the body because of the high contents of vitamin C. The flavour from the citrus is a nice combination with the flavour from the fried pasta.

Another reason I choose this combination is that since pasta is a little salty, I choosed fruit juice which is sweet to complement the taste.

I appreciate this class because I have learnt that choosing a drink when it comes to desserts, main food, or starter is is really relevant because not all drinks goes with a particular food or a particular starter or a particular dessert. So while choosing drinks, nutritional value should be put in place.

Wonderful presentation, your fruit juice is very simple to prepare. I can agree with you on the selection of drinks, I like non-alcoholic drinks on some food while little alcohol on some foods .
The only thing that will hinder my participation is juice extractor. Mine got spoiled . Where did you buy yours.

You can do any other drinks that doesn't require extractor like Arabian tea or any other tea.

The drink you have prepared contains various vitamins which are very beneficial for our health. I have never seen the Carambola fruit and have no idea about it. Orange and Watermelon are available in our country in abundance. Wish you all the best.
