The investment fund run by Greyscale Investments is short seller Citron Research’s latest target. According to MarketWatch, the Citron's founder, Andrew Left, says the investment trust, which is designed to track the movements of the world’s most popular cybercurrency, is overvalued relative to its underlying asset and poised to fall.

In a tweet sent yesterday, Citron called the fund “the most dangerous way to own bitcoin,” adding that “there is no reason this trades higher than $550 a share.”

That warning has certainly scared investors. Now at $868.10 a share, GBTC has fallen $137, or 13.6% in recent market action. Even with today’s decline, the fund has risen more than 620% since the start of 2017. It has doubled in value over the past month.

Bitcoin, meanwhile, ascended above the $4,800 mark for the first time yesterday, according to a report on CoinDesk.com. Up 2% today to $4,860, the cybercurency has risen more than 400% since the star of the year

trying to short gbtc ? not so esey :) traders try to borrow when the price was around 450$ and i think they got squeeze

(A short squeeze is a rapid increase in the price of a stock that occurs when there is a lack of supply and an excess of demand for the stock. Short squeezes result when short sellers cover their positions on a stock, resulting in buying volume that drives the stock price up.)
also shorting this stock is a very risky thing to do
why ?
a:this stock is not esay to borrow
b:the stock \ fund is traded only when the stock market is open anless you traded it out side of the trading houres
whic is not so esay if your not a pro trader
c:bitcoin is traded 24h so it can jump to 10K price that means that you cant have a stop loess

Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC)
Market Cap 1.37B

holding more or less 174,174 bitcoins 174,147 * 4552 = market cap of 792.840.048
and the fund takes a commision of 2% per year for holding the funds

i dont know if the fund have more holdings in more coins
probbley they got bitcoin cash if they didnt sell it to bitcoin
it can add more value to the fund market cap so maybe the price or the market cap of the fund is not so over value
if someone know please commentdown below i would like to get more info
i hope the Bitcoin Investment Trust will not end up like First Bitcoin Capital (BITCF)
if you hold gbtc i wish you good luck
