What does it take to be a good parent.

Parents have a lot of responsibilities and duties, one of them being able to raise their children. The following essay will help us understand what it takes to be a good parent.

It’s often the simpler things that we always over look. Things like setting a good example for the child. Children tend to pattern after other people, most likely their parents therefore setting a good example is already a step in the right direction and this is also where you show the child right from wrong. Support the child, when a child knows that he or she has someone they count on; it makes growing as an individual so much better.

As much as the parent loves and supports the child, disciplining the child is highly necessary so the child can learn to respect the elderly from a very young age. For example, grounding them and giving them chores to do, and when they do wrong the parent has to help them and show them the right way to do something or the right way to go.

As the child grows older each day there will be ups and downs, in the ups praise the child and in the downs support them and correct so that it is most likely that they won’t do it over and over again. Another important thing is communication, and in order for this to happen the parent and the child should listen to each other.

A parent won’t always be there so cherish each and every moment with your child and the same for the child. In every moment there’s always something special about it.
