Using wrong pronouns is considered sexual harassment?

Three middle school boys refused to use the "they/them" pronouns preferred by a classmate.

The school district's punishment, rather than detention and making them write an essay on "respect and kindness", was to file federal Title IX complaints against them for sexual harassment.

Anyone who thinks that using Title IX suits accusing schoolchildren of sexual harassment (as opposed to "stay after school and write an essay on the topic of respect") is the appropriate tool for enhancing the acceptance of trans people in our society has absolutely and utterly lost their mind.

I think everyone reading this wants trans folks to be accepted as ordinary, normal members of society. ** Title IX investigations against school children are not the way to achieve that **

And you wonder why hard-right ideologues are gaining ground on school-boards. (In a place like Mantiwoc County, this school district is begging for a GOP school-board takeover)
