IV:2 Civilized societies in Universe do not typically give much thought to superficialities such as the ones humankind has become so fixated on—gender, race, sexual orientation, spirituality, age—because these are common and inherent characteristics that reveal virtually nothing about the actual character of an individual. It is also cretinous that a species would discriminate against its own kind based on such superficialities. This is not to say that other societies in Universe have not experienced such growing pains, but those that have typically overcame them at earlier stages of their development. Humankind is lagging in this area and has much work to do.
