Brasília - Meeting in Hamburg, Germany, to discuss the main global economic challenges, the political representatives of the 20 largest world economies (G20) reaffirmed in the final document of the summit the determination to jointly address issues such as poverty, terrorism, Forced displacement of populations, unemployment, gender inequality and climate change.
In addressing the environmental issue, however, the final communiqué of the meeting made clear the divergence between the United States and the other members of the G20, criticizing the exit of the Americans from the Paris Agreement, signed in 2015 during the 21st Conference of the United Nations Climate Change Parties (COP21) with global commitments to address climate change.
The agreement was signed on the occasion by former President Barack Obama, but in June, current trustee Donald Trump decided to withdraw US support for the initiative.
