GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) - a peek on how I feel today

I'm having a hard time sleeping again because of my GERD. It's good that my anxiety has been greatly reduced.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD. Doctors believe that some people suffer from GERD due to a condition called hiatal hernia. In most cases, GERD can be relieved through diet and lifestyle changes; however, some people may require medication or surgery.

The onset of my condition was on January 2, 2016. I was on medication for 6 months but I felt no change and it's quite expensive so I stopped.

There's not a day that pass by that I don't feel it. It bothers me much especially if I feel heartburns and my throat is dry making me feel like I have difficulty breathing. I'm also worried that this could lead to Barrett's esophagus, a serious complication of GERD.

I also have to sleep with my head part of the bed elevated. I'm lying on my bed with this position as of this writing. I'm posting this using my phone.

If there are others here who have the same condition, they surely can understand well because they feel what I feel.
