Clarified butter smoke point is higher than butter and other cooking oils. For example, butter offers 350 degrees Fahrenheit smoke point whereas Ghee clarified butter offers 485 degrees Fahrenheit smoking point and that makes it a preferred oil for high temperature cooking methods.
However, higher clarified butter smoke point is not the only reason to call ghee a safer and better butter. There are at least 4 more reasons to call ghee a better butter.
• Butter contains lactose and casein but ghee is free from these milk nasties. Ghee is lactose and casein-free., which makes it risk free from dairy allergy.
• Ghee is storage-friendly and which is why you can store ghee butter in kitchen without freezing support. But butter is not storage friendly.
• Ghee is more versatile than butter. Ghee is trans-fat free but butter contains transfat. Ghee offers lots of health benefits but butter is not that health friendly.
• Ghee is an immunity booster but butter is not known for such wellness benefit.
Let’s sum up the discussion. Not only the smoke point of butter is lower than ghee, but also, ghee is more helpful for cooking than butter for all the above motives. It is healthier to use grass-fed ghee always other than any other ghee varieties. For example, you may bank on Milkio Grass-fed ghee products.
