A Life of Giving

Yesterday I referenced a man who is the most generous person I've ever known. This is his story.

Roy did not come from money. He has little formal education. I met him before he had the means to be generous. We helped his family move when they could no longer afford their home. They moved and we lost track for many years.

During this time, two things happened. I lack personal details. The first thing was not a change, but good fortune through persistence. Roy entered into a business agreement whereby he shared in the business growth and profits of a small business who followed his advice. The business boomed and Roy became rich. Success followed success.

The second thing that happened the functional beginning of Roy's giving addiction. He began a pattern of helping others succeed. He helped artists, writers, photographers, and everyone else he met. His giving fueled his fortune. He built a reputation based entirely on giving help to others.

He is a great success at the end of his story. I am blessed to have known him!
