putting glitter in your vaginas

Gynaecologists in the UK are warning women to stop participating in the bizarre trend that encourages them to place glitter capsules into their vagina.

The product called 'Passion Dust' is said to taste like candy and is designed to improve the romantic experience.
But medical specialists are concerned the dust could have potentially dangerous side effects, despite claims from the retailer the dust is "safe".

"If women place foreign objects inside their vagina, they risk disturbing the balance which may lead to infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or thrush, and inflammation," Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists' Dr Vanessa Mackay told The Independent.

Obstetrician and gynaecologist consultant Shazia Malik added the dust could "kill off any passion at all" by causing painful inflammatory discharge and tiny scratches in the vagina.

"The starch and gelatine (in the dust) will increase the pH as well as adding sugar to the vaginal secretions, which will encourage harmful bacteria and fungi such as Candida to thrive," she said.

"This causes increased discharge and a painful, inflamed vagina, which causes painful intercourse."

Website Pretty Woman Inc, which sells Passion Dust,' is refuting the experts' claims.

"If you've ever had vaginal issues you had them before you used Passion Dust anyway," a statement on the website said.

"If you've ever had a yeast infection I'm sure it wasn't caused by glitter, it just happens sometimes."
