Bajai Body Camp 13.01: Day 360
Puerta de Gredos

Barco de Avila, Spain
19.71% closing in

Woke up without the alarm. Is this the start of a perfect day?

Today is the start of Month 13 of Bajai Body Camp. It's the first day of June and five days left of year one. The first year is the toughest.

It's the last day of this VT session. Closing ceremonies, tapas, and on the bus. At some point today I should make a plan to get out of Madrid.

Maria, another kindred spirit, and part of the party posse!

Two walks... to the river and throwing rocks. Warm summery day here in the mountains.

I wasn't very hungry at breakfast. Salmon, jamon, tea... water during the walks.

Seems I've been elevated to #1. Mutual vibes, kindred spirits. Where will it go? Who knows? It might be great!!

We had the closing ceremonies, massive tapas for lunch and then the long bus ride back to Madrid. All the "last" goodbyes and finally we go our separate ways.

Maria and I took the metro, she lives "on the 1 line," so she showed me the way. It was hot on that puppy, and kind of crowded. Good sweat.

I got to the hostel... walked the wrong way of course.. so extra time carrying the bags. That was my exercise for the day.

Far Away from Home, Atocha - One night in a hostel

Far Away from Home seems to be a hostel... franchise, (maybe). I stayed at Atocha 45... which is a main "calle" in central Madrid. It was a strategic one-nighter, 28$ USD for an eight bed dorm, which is roomy, but I'm aware of everyone else in the space. I don't know if it's because of my "spidey" senses or because I'm so used to being alone the presence of "alien energy" disrupts my peace.

I was super excited to find laundry appliances here!
Way too excited probably.

Either way, another hostel experience.

This place has a washer and dryer which are all inclusive... for less and better... (a full 60 minutes of dryer time)... than even my favourite lavanderia. I was very happy about that.

Other than laundry... it was time to decompress, take care of business... including booking a hotel, in Malaga, reasonably close to the beach... or the port. I can visit the port and plan the jump to the continent for a bit. I wonder what's possible there.

Tea and "studenten frutta" for dinner and early to bed, but not to sleep.
