Wake up... top bunk of an eight-bed dormitory. The process of becoming proficient in spending the night in hostels is a lot like learning anything new.... speaking another language, learning about crypto currencies or even a new romance... there's a learning curve... sometimes a tolerance curve that can only be overcome with time and practice.
The hostel isn't even the issue. Of course it's me and my loner perspective and attitude. I think there's a good deal of curiosity and security issues as well. I'm a light sleeper, at times. Every breath, whisper, light, and smell seems to jostle me from my sleep... so I sleep with the tunes plugged in.
Of course, at times I am so deeply asleep that I don't even realize it. This could be why I usually feel rested although I may not gave actually gotten enough (good) sleep.
Right!!
Uncharacteristically checked out from the hostel an hour early and got a decent Desayuno Ingels at a spot on Atocha. English is spoken here at El Campesino Burger. The breakfast was good, filling, but a bit salty for my taste. (I took a pic so maybe I'll remember to post it.)

A nice breakfast but a step down from what I'd gotten used to.
The rest of the day has yet to unfold.
I already miss the routine of Vaughn Town and of course the company... and the presence if #1. I have no explanation, no excuse. When the vibes align the feelings follow. What will be will be.
Picked up some vitamin C this morning, people are and have been sneezing around me and I'm out (of Vitamin C). More proper than the last batch... and 100 caps... 1000 mg.
Okay, I've killed about an hour at the Peasant Burger. Time to see if I can pick up my train ticket. Out of Madrid in... four hours.

I like these little spots. Madrid would love New York.
Although I love the regimen of the English programs, I also appreciate the off-time when I can catch up on my journal and my thoughts... and of course, my plans. I expect June to be my holiday month. Four programs done... as scheduled, so I'm do some off time. I could've planned my last two-week break better... learning curve.
It's nice to be able to walk around Madrid and not get lost. Better to be able to ride the metro and not get lost... too often. Best would be to be able to speak and understand well enough to blend in.
The train to Malaga

Just two hours from Madrid to Malaga. Good ride, but Renfe is slacking.
Universe is looking out. Really did not want to sit next to la chica... and as soon as the train pulled out, she... relocated. She didn't want to sit next to me either. She seemed like a Philly chick. No mas!
No electricity and no wifi on this train... for me. Becoming more disappointed in Renfe's amenities. By the way, traveling on Saturday is a rule breaker, but I didn't want to spend it in Madrid. No offense.
It was a nice scenic and ever-changing train ride to Malaga. The sun was shining when we left Madrid, then it went dark. It was raining in Cordoba, but sunny and bright in Malaga.
More exercise... the walk to the hotel and then another walk to the market. No night life.
I am missing the routine and the people. Especially the #1 energy. I can write an entire chapter about that evolution. It may still be evolving.

Malaga reminding me of Miami... in good and "bad" ways.
I think about two weeks here and then cross the sea to Morocco.
Goodnight.
