Bajai Body Camp 14.24: Day 413
Hotel Center Seville
Tuesday July 23, 2018
Sevilla, Spain
22.61% rollin'
It's travel Tuesday and I'm checked out of the room and having my last cup of tea at the snack bar.
I woke up strong this morning. No headache, but still slept an extra 30 minutes after the alarm. Come to think of it, I actually woke an hour before the alarm was set. It may have been some latent travel anxiety. But I don't feel anxious today. More like excited!!
On the AMX front I got some squats in and the elbow-knee twists, which is more exhausting than one might think... I did 50... both knees equal one count. And that was about it.
I finished off my food; the salad, tomatoes and mushrooms and blueberries. What seemed like a forced round. Maybe one more before I head out. Another cup of tea also... maybe. I need to shoot across the street and get some food... snacks for the ride.
It used to be a regular practice to check some indices from day to day, but I haven't done it in a while. Today I peeked at Bitcoin and read that it popped over 8k for a minute, so I looked at gold and was surprised to see it below $40 a gram. The USD steady... I consider 94.5-95.5 steady. I don't think it's gone dramatically either way in some time.
Manipulation or not, the people who keep pushing gold and expecting it to break out are not appearing very credible these days. I don't have very much invested in gold, however I think that those who own many, many kilos, and paid significantly more than $40 per gram, may be a bit concerned. Not to mention the storage and whatever other fees are involved with owning gold. (Of course they may/probably have it in their own possession, like John Wick.)
Keep in mind, there is no expertise at all on my part. I am only commenting on what I've been noticing. There's likely far more to this gold stuff that I don't understand. We could be one event away from gold taking off. Who knows?
It was a smooth flow from the Hotel to the bus station. There's a specific bus that runs from the airport to the international bus station. I was joking that for €4 the EA (Especial Aeropuerto) should deliver me right to the door of my next bus. It practically did. Ha ha. Universe is always having a laugh with me.
The bus seems comfortable. There's power, but I haven't discovered the wifi yet, but there seems to be something going on. (The bus did indeed have pretty good wifi.) Sevilla was not the first station, however, the bus isn't packed. Travel Tuesday!! And 14:00-ish seems to be one of the least popular times to travel.
I've got 7-9 hours ahead of me, as does anyone else traveling from Seville to Lisbon. Not everyone will ride that far. Some have already started their journey.
Significant rest stop in Portugal. Most of this route, since Seville has been in Portugal. There's an international airport in Faro. I think we're on the road to Lisbon now. Less than four hours out by the schedule I saw online. My ticket doesn't offer an arrival time.
Made it to Lisbon and I think I got off at the wrong station..who knew there were two? Bus driver said, "Lisboa" and I got off. One short taxi ride later, I'm at what looked like a glam hotel... on sale. But it's on sale due to renovations. Not more than ten minutes in my room and I spot a roach. I severely injure it, with my shoe, of course, and then photograph it for proof. I can't remember the last time I saw a roach in a habitacion.
I got in late, so I'm not able to give this place the once over. I'm on the sixth floor which would be a good climb, but the stairway smells like paint. The hallway smells like cigarette smoke. (It's a non-smoking hotel, my guess is, the painters smoke.)
I may have set my hopes up too high for this place. I don't remember reading anything about the place being under construction.
And about the roach, I'm not the type to hold that over management's head for, say free breakfast, or a free anything. I just write about. It is what it is. Do better.
Anyway. This was a no-meal day. Unless I wander around the hood and find something. I had studenten frutta on the bus and that held me over. I would like a cup of tea, but the self service cafe is closed too. I am very missing Sevilla!!
I'm disappointed in this place on many levels. Internet speed is slow, but maybe it will speed up; it's happened before. We seem to be in a VIP hotel park here. Anyway, I have high expectations of Swiss hotels. Maybe I'll have a better impression by the end of the week.
What will my first day in Lisbon be like? Recon. Find my resources, and maybe check out the pool and the gym.
Ciao.
Boa noite.
I'm at this place for seven days. I hope it gets better!! I'll keep you posted.
