earth system science organization indian national centre for ocean information service has launched the ocean forecasting system for Indian ocean coutries (comoros,madagascar and mozambique) to upgrade ocean forecasts and early warning system this will provide real-time data on oil spills, tsunami and storm surge warnings and alerts on high waves,currents,winds and sub-surface ocean conditions, and aid fisherman, coastal authorities ,businesses and oceanic reasearch institutes.this system will benefit the indian coast too. in fact, last year,s wave surge and coastal flooding in kerala and westbengal were predicated using data from seychelles.
