The glory of God is manifested in the universe, explains the teacher of wisdom Ben Sira in his book. God is the wisest, and his wisdom gives life to the living and penetrates all things. God is compared to the sun, just as our star transmits light to us with its rays, so God transmits his gifts, his perfections to us: "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful", Luke 6:36; "Be holy because I am holy", 1 Peter 1:16.
To know God is to know the mysteries of wisdom. Although we perceive with the human reason some of his works, the vast majority of these remain hidden, we only perceive a small part, like the tip of an iceberg. This is why the path of wisdom is an initiatory path, a path to true mystery, wisdom is a hidden treasure, that knowledge that is somehow in us but of which we are not fully aware. Wisdom is progressive, and it is compared to the vine that sprouts in spring and bears fruit in summer. This is what the great wisdom teachers of the Bible try to convey to us in their books, such as King Solomon and Ben Sira.
God is the source of all perfection and knowledge, the master of wisdom Ben Sira explains:
"He searches out the abyss and penetrates the heart;
their secrets he understands.
For the Most High possesses all knowledge,
and sees from old the things that are to come.
He makes known the past and the future,
and reveals the deepest secrets.
He lacks no understanding;
no single thing scapes him.
He regulates the mighty deeds of wisdom;
he is from all eternity one and the same,
With nothing added, nothing taken away;
no need of a counselor for him!", Ben Sira 42:18-21.
And this wisdom, this perfect knowledge has been transmitted to the notable men of Israel: the patriarchs, the judges, the prophets and the kings: "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.", Amos 3:7.
God continues through his oracles like Nostradamus, Fatima and Saint Malachy to give us that knowledge about the future and destiny of humanity, it is in us to know how to interpret the signs of the times: "As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near", Matthew 24:32.
