Tulsi’s wedding was celebrated last month in Hindu homes across Goa and India. The Tulsi plant (holy basil) is the personification of Goddess Lakshmi and the ceremony symbolizes her union with Lord Vishnu.
In Goa, the ritual is centred around the Tulsi vrindavan in the front yard of the home. The women of the house assume the primary role in these celebrations.
These are scenes from last month in the tiny Goan village of Tikhazana.
All the images – shot in RAW – were taken with the iPhone 14 Pro which, to my surprise, acquitted itself splendidly in this low light setting.
