Bible study about the blessed life: I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism

In the acts of the apostles, the centurion Cornelius, a pious man, receives the vision of an angel who asks him to seek the Apostle Peter to hear the word of God, these were the times of early Christianity and the Christian religion was not yet widespread among the pagans, and when the apostle Peter meets Cornelius, he makes a reflection: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right" Acts 10:34-35.

Favoritism in the bible is contrary to communion, the ethical social order. Communion is how God wants men to live. The kingdom of God is the reign of mercy, the dominion of perseverance, the government of piety, the kingdom of wisdom among men: "The kingdom of God is already among you", Luke 17:21. This is the good news of the gospel, the blessed life is made concrete in this new social order. And this communion, this life in common is the product of the action of the spirit of wisdom:
"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
Then Peter said, ´Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.´ So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ." Acts 10:44-47.
The gospel is a universal message to all who fear God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, stability). Favoritism in the early church is considered one of the gravest sins, because favoritism seeks division and the works of the flesh: "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like." Galatians 5:19. Favoritism in essence is the previous step to heresy, the teaching of error.
