How God works in us: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give"

In the second letter to the Corinthians we have a teaching about the importance of communion, life in common: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver", 2 Corinthians 9:7
The Corinthian church had decided to make a collection in favor of the Jerusalem church and Paul expresses his gratitude in the letter. In communion, just as spiritual goods are shared, material goods are also shared. Communion is the ethical social order, the correct social order. Just as the family is the correct basis of society, communion is with the order of society: "For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man", 2 Corinthians 8:21
Communion is the union of hearts: "give what you have decided in your heart to give"

This is how God works in us. Each one gives according to the treasure of his heart, Paul is telling us: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also", Matthew 6:21. For Paul, being rich before God is fundamental we harvest according to what we sow: "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously" 2 Corinthians 9:6
Communion has a goal that goes beyond justice, and that goal is equality: "For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is written: ´The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have to little.´", 2 Corinthians 8:12-15.
Communion reminds us of the apostle is a manifestation of the glory of God and his qualities, that is, his attributes among men.
