We're all bitcoin and cryptocurrency supporters, and these platforms will of course be the primary focus here. However, at some point, you may want to "solidify" some of the gains you've made.
In that case, precious metals, particularly gold bullion, represents an ideal choice. Like its proponents say, gold has been around since the beginning of man -- you cannot say that about any other asset class (with the obvious exception being other precious metals or natural assets).
But if you don't want to deal with the hassle of owning physical bullion -- and please, spare me the "you don't own it until you hold it" line...I've heard it 864,203 times, and I don't need to make it 864,204 times... -- then gold stocks might be ideal for you.
Again, this is just a personal choice -- some might like the physical stuff, others may want to buy gold stocks (ie. gold miners and exploration companies).

Miners can sure be frustrating to own. I recently sold Barrick but still own Newmont. I prefer FNV and Sandstorm, both stream/royalties. I also own a few speculative miners and Goldmoney.
