Many buyers that pay very low, compete with serious buyers by posting their buy prices in pennyweights, it gives the chump sellers a false illusion of a higher pay rate.

** 11/18/2012 ** I have completed channel wide edits, to reduce the view time of each vid. Making it easier and less of a time investment for anyone wanting to learn more about the precious metals scrap business. Most videos have had 1/3 trimmed from the start and end, commentary, and most unrelated verbiage, fluff, silver/gold porn, etc. has been removed.

About our gold & silver jewelry sales: We buy scrap items from Pawns, Jewelers, Estate Bank Trustees, Lawyers, other dealers, in bulk as an alternative to Refinery / Smelters, at 90% of melt. Our business then processes the jewelry, and other items, then send it on to our refinery. In the sorting process, many choice pieces of gold jewelry, we just can not bring ourselves to scrap out, are held back as sale-able pieces. ( GOLD RINGS, CHAINS, Watches, Gold Coins, OLD UNUSUAL PIECES - some old sterling silver and silver coins too ) We will be selling most of that inventory, now thru Christmas, I will state in each listing a true weight and actual scrap value at 98% of melt - all will start at 95 cents and sell even if for less than scrap, no reserve. I've been in the Gold and silver Diamond, and Gem, business since 1983 / MY GIFT TO YOU. Merry Christmas. / Youtube channel; ScrapGoldExpert = Learn about gold & silver site. Satisfaction Guaranteed on all lots.
Nickel Titanium alloy - you will never see a piece of white dental gold. The hardness of the item should tip you off to the item having no gold content. This is an excellent example of why the best gold tester is directly between your ears, and is not in some battery operated gadget, made in China. We live and learn.

Fakes tip- It (something harder) slides across the stone without much material removal, a lot more pressure and concentration must be applied to cause it to interact with the grit of the stone it seems slick and slides quickly over the surface.

I'm not sure, Who said it, or how old the saying might be but, I have long recognized the importance of buying American made products. So. BUY AMERICAN - Here's a link to a U.S. manufacturer that needs your help and patronage, as they all do, what few of them, that still exist. http://www.whsl.net (inquire)

and the TAG LINE to that old saying was "The job you save, just may be yours"

Thanks.

All my vids are better after a day or 2, because, then I've had time to add captions to the clarifying meanings, etc. fyi. Also and most seriously on a lot of vid the best learning / tips and insight comes from the comments. I have learned much from comment feedback. So, always look at those. Thanks again for the requests, the topics may be revisited. ps; buy a lot of silver-plate and junk jewelry, (from all eras) that will help you see the patterns and manufacturing methods best. I might also mention that buying and selling vintage costume jewelry is most of the time by percentage WAY MORE PROFITABLE than gold or silver so that's not an opportunity to overlook. :-)
