Be a good kid.
I've heard it since I was a kid.
Why should we be good man?
Does being good help people's lives?
Who do you benefit from?
Wouldn't it be good for someone who wants to abuse a good man?
So, what about someone who's next to a good man(such as a spouse or child)?
Are they happy to be with good man?
I don't think I'm happy to be with a good man.
When a good man is so good that he is swindled by a bad man,
The families of the good man who are just being treated are going to be too hard.
By now, you'll have a little sense of how unreasonable this moral imperative is.
So why is it so obvious that goodness is required?
That way, it's easier to control.
Easy to manage. It's easy to dominate.
"Be a good child"
is not a common social requirement that is passed on as a person-to-person.
Maybe it was the method of governance and the idea?
