Many restaurants have been struggling during the pandemic, but food delivery service DoorDash is doing their part to help. They’re donating $500-thousand to the Connecticut Restaurant Relief Fund, which was created by the Connecticut Restaurant Association to give one-time grants to restaurants in financial trouble.
DoorDash’s donation is part of its Main Street Strong Initiative, which plans to give away $200-million over five years to support restaurants in communities where they operate. Connecticut Restaurant Association Executive Director Scott Dolch says the money will “provide much-needed financial support for local businesses throughout our state.”
Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont also expressed his thanks, saying, “Our small businesses, especially our restaurants, are part of the fabric of our communities and I’m thrilled to see this corporate partner provide this new aid.”
