Steemit.com should adopt a three column layout with large vibrant thumbnails, similar to Google Plus! The image below shows my current Google Plus feed.
I have a Google Plus account and have not used it very much since I found steemit.com!
I don't use Google Plus as much because it costs me, it is my opportunity cost to using steemit. Meaning the more time I spend on Google Plus, the less time I have to make money doing the same thing on steemit!
Today when I checked my Google Plus account I realized that it had a very nice visual layout as a whole, wherein lies the value in the site for all it's users.
If that is the case, then steemit needs to adopt a layout similar to the one that is popular on google plus! The thing I like about the Google Plus layout is that it divides the page up into the three major columns, allowing for at least 3X as many posts, & allowing for larger more vibrant thumbnails too! There could even be a dropdown on each column for groups like surfing, food, or whatever interests you. Maybe watch three different feeds at once! This is just my opinion, but I think the sky is the limit once the presentation of our posts gets refined.

Good idea, I do see Steemit adapting to the needs of a growing community as did all the other social networks out there.
So your idea could very well become reality sooner than what any of us could imagine, Steemit is now over 300,000 strong and is getting stronger by the day.
PS. I'm all hyped up about Steemit too....
