Google Free-Wifi Project.
Google was providing free and high-speed wifi to over 100 of the busiest railway stations in India .
Over 5 million people were using this free Internet service every month and many of them were using the Internet for the first time .
Google is working with Internet Service Provider(ISP) Railtel to bring internet connectivity to people cuz Railtel has optical fibre that was running alongside with railway tracks and it covers almost 70% of India.
Google started free wifi firstly at Mountain View.
Google is also providing free wifi service to some parts of Indonesia.
And their aim was to provide free wifi to public places all over the world.
No company does things for free. And the same thing is with Google also.
So how do they earn from free wifi ?
100% of Internet users use Google products. And providing a free wifi gives endless traffic to Google servers .So they can earn indirectly from millions of people. But it’s a good initiative to connect people with technology.
