 It is ‘deja vu’ all over again as Google prepares for a future that seems inevitable. Like the millennium bug of the late 90s, Practical Quantum Computing looks like the next big turn in this era of internet security and encryption.

There's two sides to this story and the race is on. Quantum cryptography is the final frontier I cryptography as it guarantees absolute privacy. But only for as long as practical quantum computing remains in the realms of theory. When it becomes a reality then history will be reset and we will have to start over.
