Jesus is a hidden treasure: And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 4:3

The gospel, the apostle Paul tells us, is a hidden treasure that we have to discover, because at first glance the truth is not self-evident; we need that grace that Jesus gives us to grow gradually, progressively in our hearts, because it is the grace from above which allows us to see the truth and not reason. And about this spiritual truth, a phrase says in the book of Proverbs: "Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge" Proverbs 23:12.
If we live according to the dictates of the spirit, the spiritual knowledge is revealed to us, but if we live according to the desires of the flesh, that is impossible, because error turns the mind of man away from knowledge, that is why the apostle Paul in one of his epistles affirmed: "And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.
And then Paul continued with the teaching and explained in more depth: "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" 2 Corinthians 4:18.
Putting our heart in everything that comes from above, is what the apostle asked for, because what is eternal and is not subject to any change is perfect, such as wisdom, mercy (compassion), truth, and the sacred listening.
Growing in the mysteries of the gospel is not something easy, it requires great inner determination and constancy and firmness in the wisdom of God. Human reason, due to its imperfection, limits us, but if we let ourselves be carried away by Jesus, the Lord will bless us, so that that seed that grows can grow, sprout and bear fruit.
