In Acts chapter 2, we see the Spirit of God being poured out on the day of Pentecost and a multitude of people of different ethnicities come together as one under the ministration of Peter to receive Christ. This says something about the Holy Spirit; that he comes to unite us in Christ but not to divide us. This suggests that if churches and denominations all over the world would come under the control and governance of the Holy Spirit, there would not be found only unity in the church but also harmonization of the various gifts and graces He has given to us. After all, he appropriates the various gifts and so he knows just how they work together. (1 Cor 12:11)
It is He who is able to carry us across barriers of communication and culture like it was on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:6,41) that we may understand one another as we become one in Christ.
LIFE APPLICATION
Pray that the church submits to the governance of the Holy Spirit that be one.
PRAYER
Father may we all be one in you as you are in the Son and the Son in you.
