The end of Gotham

Well it's absolutely no secret that I've been a fan of all things Batman for as long as I've been alive. It's probably for this very reason that I've been following Gotham, the TV series, religiously since it's inception, but unlike most people who apparently are fans, the ending left me dissatisfied.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not like I expect to get more than a glimpse on Batman, since it's supposed to be a prequel to the legend, but it felt so rushed that I wanted to yell at someone. It seems to me the director really took the cartoonish elements from past TV shows and decided to add them into the cooking pan, but they felt really forced, and that's me being generous.

All in all, the ending of the show leaves an open field for a real action Batman series, but I won't be holding my breath. Most of the characters backgrounds we're explored, but it's pretty obvious to me who were the shinning rogues that could carry such series forward.

Would I recommend Gotham to all Batman fans? Absolutely, but with the caveat that being a purist and demanding canonical events will just generate frustration.

Bitter sweet ending, bitter sweet indeed.

I don't really like batman like that. Probably because I don't watch more of is. But it is always great

I had not been too attracted to it but now that it is available to binge watch soon, I imagine I will get to it!
