Hello all, I am an Australian Registered Nurse; being an Australian Citizen of good character I never ever break the law South of the Equator. I only find myself breaking the law when I come to the United States of America.
In Australia I work (slightly; like with some small effort) as a Registered Nurse. I have a Visa to come to America as a tourist.,so in the attempt to do touristy things when I come to America i force myself to cruise the Caribbean in the largest ship in the world.
Royal Caribbean have the two largest passenger ships ever on the Oceans, The Allure is the 2nd biggest ship afloat and Oasis of the Seas the third; only one super tanker for bulk oil is slightly larger, to put this another way these ships make aircraft carriers look smallish.
700 Million dollars to build, 700 million to kit out, around 8,500 people including the approx 2,500 crew; this is what 225 tonnes gives you. A nice way to travel to the Bahamas. But can I work in america; nope, no social security number. . .
As a Registered Nurse I got my Australian Grades converted to Americanese so the Americans could read them; after all Americans read American and my grades were written in English, so you can understand the confusion. Then I passed the American nursing test and am eligible to hold an American nursing licence. However without a Social Security Number I cannot be issued an American Registered Nursing Licence because I do not have a Social.
Without a job offer I cannot change my tourist visa from tourist to WORKER BEE status. So no I am not working, I am simply breaking immigration law by suggesting the idea I might try and find work in America once I can legally do so. Australians get a special kind of work visa, I cannot get a work visa because I do not have a job offer.
I cannot get a job offer because I do not have an american Nursing Licence. Without a Social Security number I cannot pick up my Nursing licence. I cannot get a Social # because I am not allowed to gain a Social Security number because I do not have a work visa.
So simply I cannot work in America, in fact I cannot volunteer in America since most agencies now require a SS# to volunteer, so I sit and Steemit my days away till my visa expires and I return to the land of lesser bureaucracy and return to the workforce.
Recently I returned to Australia and applied for welfare till i could land my next Registered Nursing job, I wanted into the welfare office and they told me I did not have sufficient proof of identification since i only had my Australian drivers licence, 2 credit cards and my Australian Passport. They told me my Australian passport did not qualify as an approved document; it was never put on the approved list since people on welfare almost never have a government passport.
This episode is not to be confused with two years before when I returned to Australia and was told I was no longer eligible for Residency. Residency is where your allowed to live within a country, apparently these bureaucrats felt I had lost my Australian Residency because i had been overseas more than 3 years in the past 5 years.
I explained I was an Australian citizen by birth, not a naturalized citizen, thus I could not be considered for things like free health care, the right to vote etc. I asked does that mean my government cannot draft me now? I stated that my lack of residency would be explained to the Taxation office why I declined to file any taxation certificates. They said the law was specific. I said where would you like to live Ethiopia or Antarctica if I could not live in my own country.
Finally they said I could live there but was ineligible to collect welfare since i had not paid any tax. I explained my next call after I was getting off the phone was to the news papers who might be slightly interested in my story and my next five calls were to my Federal Politician who might take some interest in contacting your supervisors after at least five phone calls.
Anyway the issue of my Residency was quickly forgotten : )

Truly citizens should be able to sue their public servants when those public servants are to stupid even for government work . . .
"Truly citizens should be able to sue their public servants when those public servants are to stupid even for government work . . ."
When you say "sue", Is that like ...Hanging them ? OR is that French for "Tar and Feathering ? or something really groovy like that ? Ok, I can see how that might violate the NAP (Non Aggression Principal). How about if you talk them "Into ... ok, ok, (Coercion) bah ! Technicalities, Technicalities !!
O K ... So DOES it actually "count" if they are just "Pubic Savants " anyways? because they are not REALLY .. like "sentient" beings anyway right ?
This NAP is pretty hard at times, damn near as tuff as being a Pro-Crastinator !

I simply ask what model car they drive; when they ask why, I tell them I will be requesting the Judge to award me their motor vehicle as my compensation when I win against them as I sue them in Court : )
It is not harassment to tell someone you are planning on seeking a lawful remedy in a court of competent jurisdiction. So you can tell everyone you meet you are planning on suing them, what you cannot say is like " give me five bucks or I am going to sue you in court " . . .
It is important to know if the vehicle is even worth seeking to be awarded as damages in your settlement, plus handy to know how much registration, insurance, maintenance and even fuel mileage. After all who wants to get stuck with a gas guzzling V8 motor that costs $24 to drive to the local store : )

I thought a NAP was a New Age Person; you know a guy who changes baby diapers or washes up or a lady who changes smoke alarm batteries at the top of a ladder, maybe even fills up her own windshield wiper fluid reservoir.
You know like a SNAG = Sensitive New Age Guy sort of thing : )
