There are millions of people out there on the internet that you can gather in as followers! The big question is…
How do you catch their attention?
Go and find where they’re hanging out, and find out what they are doing out there. And if you have the same interests as them, you’re in luck. You’re sure to fit in ever so nicely.
Aaah, but how do you get them to follow you?
We all know and hear many times over, that your blogs must have quality content. And it’s easy for people to say you must have a high reputation, etc, etc to get noticed.
But you are looking for lots and lots of followers, aren’t you?!
The quick answer most people give is: HARD CONSISTANT WORK! Nothing lands in one’s lap without effort. But I say… work smart too!
First off:
Get your act together and latch onto what tips the tipping-point:
- Check out each social media platform and take note of what type of topics do best there? Is it something you can handle easily?
- Whatever you do, discover topics that people are dying to know more about. Choose a topic that’s in great demand, but no one else is presently covering your viewpoint on it.
- What are the most popular and rewarding keyword tags? Not just the most used tags, but those that gives you more up-vote value. That will also give you an insight into what will likely trend and go viral.
- When introducing yourself, do it with flair. Be unique in the way you present yourself. And say what you can `bring to the table’. How will people benefit and expect from your blogs? Not just with your first post, but with each and every post.
- People have high expectations: Are you an expert in a particular field or topic? Authenticity and authority is important in people trusting what you have to say.
- Whatever you do, don’t act desperate and beg for handouts. Rather be friendly and helpful.
- People remember things emotionally. So use thrilling active words in your blogs that touch people’s hearts to the core and to their needs.
Fish in whale waters!
Follow whales and participate in their activities. That way you will see what the whales are doing and how they do it. And also people appreciate it when someone takes interest in them and what they’re doing.
Somewhere down the line, people return favours and check out what you are up to, as well. And, if your blogs are truly interesting and fascinating, they will follow you too. Even to the possibility that they’ll support you with auto up-voting on a continuous basis as well.
Also fish for new whales:
Search through the minnow and dolphin posts. When you find well-constructed interesting contents, up-vote and support them. We need quality posting on Steemit to improve Steemit’s reputation worldwide.
In the long-run, you personally benefit from those connections.
Not only fish in Steemit waters:
…but also fish elsewhere too.
Like a spider go out on the web! Spin your own `web’ out there, on places like Twitter and Instagram. Use the #steemit hashtag when linking your tweets to your posts. Also, the hashtag that represents your topics!
Keep in mind, there are also lots of Steemit folks out there on social media platforms too! They may miss seeing your posts on Steemit, but there is a chance they will catch up with you and connect with you on Twitter, or some other social media.
And if your tweet `adverts’ are really good, they’ll click on your tweet links back to Steemit, and begin following you there too. If of cause… your posts are really fantastic and worth following!
When commenting:
- Write like you are chatting to a dear friend of yours on the phone, on a one-to-one basis. And listen carefully to their comments.
- Acknowledge what people are saying and engage with them. Their input is your valuable connection to building friendships and followers.
- Get to know what people are enjoying and wanting to know more about. So you can cover those topics sometime in the future.
- Be sensitive to the mood of people’s comments. Moods are emotional signals as to how to respond favourably.
Follow up:
People are really touched, when you go out of your way to follow up on what they are saying and what’s happening with them and what they are doing on their sites.
You showing sincere interest in other people’s lives and hobbies are a sure way to build strong lasting friendships and followers.
The subtleties of perception:
You may know some or most of this, but have you thought more deeply into these facts and suggestions?
What have you missed, between the lines? How can you use that, to your advantage?
I hope I will get some followers now

Some people only think up-votes are important. But it's more than that. It's how you participate and connect with others.

It's a pleasure to read your post that you think deeply about people.
Eventually, we should listen and see the opinion of others and those values should be considered in us and in them.
These aspects should be ignored which are different. Then we can get a lot more.
You have tried to highlight the thought of people and I see you very successful. Thank you so much for sharing this great post.
