"The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:9 (NKJV)
• Self-development is the process by which a person's character and abilities are developed.
- Thus developing your character and ability have to do with the development of your mind.
IF someone's mind is changed, you have succeeded in changing the person of that individual. - When your mind is changed, your viewpoint about life and things in general will change, and that affects your character positively.
- Thus, the Bible says believers should renew their minds because transformation takes place in the mind.
“And do not be conformed to this world, BUT BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
Romans 12: 2 (NKJV)
- Mind renewal is not done at once, it is done through persistence and determination, AND studying and meditating on the Word of God.
- When you are developing yourself, your mind, it may look insignificant.
IN fact, you may not notice the effect instantly, but it will show in the long run.
WHAT you know will begin to show and speak. - When you started practicing what you have discovered, it may not be easy.
THUS, when you are developing yourself, you may experience pains. - Application of the truth you know is not always easy or convenient, however, if you persist and remain focus, your profit will be evident to all.
"MEDITATE on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your PROGRESS may be evident to all."
1 Timothy 4:14 (NKJV)
• As I said earlier, you develop your mind primarily by studying the Word of God, as you study the Word and pray, your eyes of understanding will be opened—enlightened (Ephesians 1:17,18).
- Another way to develop your mind is by rubbing your mind with other great minds through their materials, that is, their teachings: "a man of knowledge increases strength" (Proverbs 24:5).
- In reading books, you should be selective about it, you read books that are edifying, that would help you in fulfilling the assignment which God has committed to your hands.
- You read the books or materials of someone who is following the Lord.
IF you are reading a book or material and your faith is not being built, you need to do away with such a book. - God will breathe on what you have taken time to learn and make it relevant to other people.
- You will learn through life experiences, and learn from others, through associations and observations (Philippians 4:9).
• Develop yourself, In the time to come some people would be willing to have what you know, and they would be willing to pay for it.
- You will be rewarded for what you know and the problems you solved for people.
- If what you know can solve people’s problems, it will fetch you reward.
- Make yourself a solution to people’s problems.
- You will be remembered for the problem you solved or created.
- For you to be a solution to people’s problems you have to develop your potential.
- Until you develop yourself, you may not be relevant.
- When you stop growing, you lose your relevance.
YOU must always come up with new ideas, solutions, to people’s problems. - Humanity has myriad of problems, you are created to be problem solver, and doing what you are created to do makes you relevant on earth.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
