Today is the thirteenth day of the gratitude day contest organized by our own super steemian @tojukaka.

What I really like about this gratitude day is that, it encourages us to appreciate God and people around us for their own path in our lives.

Today I'm very grateful to God for saving my birds from disease outbreak. There is a disease known as Infectious Bursal disease, commonly known as "Gumboro "

What is infectious bursal disease?
Infectious bursal disease (IBD, Gumboro) is an acute, highly contagious viral infection in chickens, manifested by inflammation and subsequent atrophy of the bursa of fabricius, various degrees of nephroso-nephritis and immunosuppression.

Clinically, the disease is manifested only in chickens older than 3weeks. Symptoms include :
Lowering of feather
Feaces contained plenty urates
Reduced Intake of food and water
High mortality rate.

The period of most apparent clinical symptoms and high death rate is at the age of 3-6 weeks.

But in most cases, cocci is usually set in before the infection of gumboro disease. If cocci is treated properly, there is probability of gumboro free. Since you can only prevent cocci by using anti-coccidia drugs or vaccine.

The reason why we vaccinate is to prevent the outbreak of the diseases we vaccinate against. But sometimes the vaccine may break either because of the uses of antibiotics or vaccine source. If this happened, it can cause major disease if care is not taking.

May be due to the low quality of vaccine, or other factors I don't know yet, I still sees those symptoms. But luckily, I quickly noticed and I repeat the vaccination, though it's very risky but the disease is even worse if set in.

I got lucky on this one, so I'm very grateful to God. It would have been a set back as I have experienced it not quite long.

Sometimes it happens like that, and it seems like a miracle.
