Acoustic rythm guitar:
These guitars are played for rythm in songs. And acoustic leads also can be played in these guitars.
Electric lead guitar:
These guitars are used for playing solo and riffs in rock songs.
Bass guitar:
Thse guitar are only for the bass sound in a song. The low sounds are created by this instrument.
Hawaiian guitar:
These guitars are played by keeping them in the lap and only pitch are played with this guitar.
Flamenco guitar:
Flamenco guitar is used for playing free style fingering.
