Walz especially, I'm sure, loves to go to the range now and then and shoot some guns. I'm sure that they're comfortable having their gun(s) around them.
They just hate that you have a gun. They just think that they have the moral authority to decide who can be trusted with a gun, and what kind of gun.

Guns are very useful for controlling people.
Simply point a gun and they do what say.
They lose their effect when the people at large own guns. Gun owners are more likely to say no.
