Our friendly neighbourhood gut microbiome 😊

Our body is made up of over 50 trillion cells! And believe it or not only a small percentage of maybe 10-20% belongs to us.
Guess who the rest belongs to? Thats right, germs! A friend who studied human dissection for 5 years once told me the human gut has roughly 5 pounds of bacterias living in there at any time, AND WE NEED THEM!
This was then no suprise to me to figure out how these bacterias performed for us daily. It turned out, without having bacteria we could not have positive health.
Different kinds of bacteria make our body a home, we are essentially a host! So when you think of a family member coming to stay, how would you like your house to be? Inviting? Warm? Pleasant?
Well, if your friend or family member comes to stay and the environment is unpleasant, they might not wish to hang around for too long, they may even make an excuse to leave sooner rather than later! But then you will have some friends or family members who dont mind a mess, will come and add to the mess and they are harder to remove!
The same can be said for our bodies! If we consume too much rubbish, breath to much bad air and remain in high stress we ruin the perfect environment for some of those friendly communities to reside! Then they leave the gate open on the way out and a perfect place for badies to stay! Oh no!

It turns out our good bacterias transform our foods and biles, they produce enzymes, synthesise nutrients that promote good health. Believe it or not! Our body requires certain nutrients needed for optimal health that cannot be found in food. Where does it come from? The transformation work done by our gut bacterias.

So, if good bacteria do this job, what does it mean for those bad guys who take up residence. Well it turns out they produce toxic byproducts that can negatively effect our health!

Studies have shown that gut bacterias play a role in Childs neuro-cognitive development from very early on.

All of this shows how important out primary immune system is, and these communities can be found in every other organ such as secondary immune systems such as the liver, or even on your largest organ you have; your skin and all our needed for PH balance and health regulation!

In todays world we are under attack from
Stale air, poor foods, home care and beauty care chemicals. Our bodies need clean environments to age slowly, to live optimally and to have good mental and physical health!
Be kind to your gut! And it will be kind to you!
Peace 💪🏼
