Nowadays vaginaplasty is a widely practiced and rather popular gynecological service. It helps to get rid of the number of problems in female intimate sphere by correcting the shape and rebuilding the structure of vagina. A lot of women in age of 25-55 years old undergo this operation that is not considered to be very dangerous or complicated. But still there can be some certain complications after it.
Usually the complications appear during the first week after the operation. In 5-7 days after it there can be a slight temperature rising and some bloody extractions. It’s very important to fulfill all the doctor’s appointments on post-operation care to avoid problems after it.
What problems can occur after the vaginaplasty operation?
Hematomas. Usually they don’t need doctor’s attention and just pass, but if there appears pain together with enlarging of the hematoma, it’s a sign to visit surgeon as soon as you can.
Painful feelings can last up to two weeks after the operation. If it’s really very disturbing, usually analgesics are appointed by doctor.
Edema. It can stay for a week and usually passes by itself.
In some cases, if the appointments of doctor and rules of basic post-operation gyn care are ignored, there can appear labial asymmetry.
Scars. The growth of scar tissue is individually determined and sometimes it grows on stitches too intensively and turns into severe scars.
One of the main restriction in post-operation period is avoiding intercourse during 2 months after the operation. Even the feeling of sexual thrill can have negative influence on stitches and cause edema because of the intensive blood flow in such moments. So during first month even the slightest stimulations are strictly forbidden. During the second month you can feel freer and the restriction works only about vaginal sex. It’s not easy to wait for so long, but the result of such patience will make happy both of the partners by health of the woman and more bright feelings for man.
