One thing members of #theresistance will have to be able to do is do things on the run. Hacking or pentesting is no different, so I was excited when I saw an article on how I could take an Android device and turn it into a mobile tool. Now, there is the matter of me learning how to the tools to do things like scan websites.
Alas, the old LG I wanted to use to try this is not compatible with some of the apps. There are a few possible solutions. One is to go to NewEgg, or see what the local computer shop has in the way of tablets, etc. I could likely install most of the apps on this. Another idea is to wait an get a Chromebook and see what apps I could move onto that from my phone. A final idea would be to put the apps on a Chromebook, this would give me a keyboard to run the commands. My work on the challenges on Over The Wire is showing me that a keyboard may be useful.
I have time to figure out what I want to do next with this.
Bandit--Keep On Truckin
I am making progress on the Bandit game. I have actually switched from my laptop to running the commands in a virtual machine on my desktop. Ideally, I'd like to run TAILS.
But I am learning tricks, extending skills and even pulling a few techniques out of my memory bank. I even know "when to say when". I decided to defer one level until another day just because I didn't feel up to the task.
