At least 17 Apps available on the Apple appstore have found to contain a variant of a Malicious code. The dicovery was made by an ethical hacking group.
The company has started to remove the offending apps from the App store, it is though that between 800,000- 1,000,000 users could have been infected by the trojan.
Theses trojans are known as Clicker trojans. They have been designed to commit fraud and other background advertising related tasks. The trojan will open many links and click links without the users knowledge.
Thus generating a lot of advertising revenue for the attacker.
According to the ethical hacking group, international institute of Cyber security, the apps were developed and uploaded by the same developer. The name of the developer is known as Appaspect technologies Pvt.
Appaspect Technologies also have 30 apps available on the Google playstore made for Android devices.
