Catching cicada:
One flaps in my hands
Some of its song

June bugs buzz-
And the wallyhoppers bounce around-
The blue light cracks

The deers’ eyes
Some eighteen yellow stares freeze
One flashlight

A dog’s barking--
Murder, urgency, alarm,
Or the mail

Fifteen minutes ago
The pasta did not smell
delicious
