Weight loss medicines can majorly cause hair loss. The reason weight loss medicines contribute to hair loss is because the people who go on weight loss are nutrient deficient, hence the deficiency of nutrients causes them to lose hair.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy drugs which are used for treating different autoimmune diseases can cause hair loss, which is just not restricted to the hair on the head alone. But, eyelashes, eyebrows and body hair also suffer from it.

What can be done to avoid this?

In case you have recently started taking new medicines, then you can speak to your doctor regarding switching your medicines. Maybe your doctor asks you to completely stop taking some medicines for a while

In case you notice hairlessness after taking medicines, then you might be advised to take medicines like Rogaine, Propecia, etc which will help in controlling hair loss.

But, you have to take these medicines for a certain amount of time, if you wish to see results. If you have the habit of quickly switching over to other medicines, then these will not show much effect.

Hair transplant surgery are great for treating hair loss. Many people suffering from hair loss get it done and have seen the maximum effect.

Other things which can be done is adorning a hat, wig or scarf.

Many people who are going through tough situations like chemotherapy, prefer to show off that they are brave enough for fighting. Hence show off their new look.
