At times, all you want is loose, undone and slightly messy waves, but taking your curling wand out at every occasion feels just a tad bit extra (and annoying). I’ve been there too, thinking of ways to get those bouncy waves without the fuss of using a curling iron and today, I’m going to share a couple of my hacks in this blog to make your life easier too!
Did you know that you can get the picture-perfect beach waves with a hair straightener too? It’s much easier than using a curling wand and it is a brilliant way of getting the just-rolled-out-of-bed waves without having to look up thousands of different tutorials on YouTube. Here, I’ve curated a list of hacks that can convert you from an amateur to hairstyling- and straightening guru!
If you’re not sure which hair straightening iron is the best fit for your hair, you can try out one of my personal favorites- Lionesse flat iron
Hack #1: Texture, texture, texture
If you’ve got fine hair that can’t hold a curl, just like mine or silky soft texture that refuses to stay in place, then it’s best to prep your hair with a heat protectant.
Dose up on dry shampoo if you’ve not washed your hair in a while and use a heat protectant or else just prep it up with a heat protectant if you have just gotten out of a shower. Either way, it’s best if you spritz your hair with a heat protectant to keep your hair healthy.
Hack #2: Twist and Pull
If you want slightly more defined beachy waves, try your hand at the twirl and pull technique. Take an inch-wide section of your hair and insert it between the plates and turn the iron away from your face to form your first bend. Next, lightly move the iron a little way down that section of hair before twisting the Lionesse hair straightener away from your face again.
Repeat this process until you reach your ends- and leave them moderately straight for a natural, unfinished look. Believe me, this looks really good. Once all your strands are done, gently run your fingers through the hair to turn them into loose waves.
Hack #3: Form “S” Shaped Waves
If you’re going for soft, casual waves, then you might just add this flat iron technique to your cache. Begin by taking a section of your hair and dropping it into the mouth of the Lionesse hair straightening iron
to form your first bend.
Next, with that same section, lock your flat iron down in the shape of an “S” to finish off that strand. Repeat this till you cover your entire head, concentrating on the ends of your strands for a more natural-looking finish.
