Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated television series. It is my son's favourite cartoon and I don't know children who never watched "Peppa". Most of children don't love "Peppa", they adore her and her story)))
Peppa appeared in 2004, it was directed and produced by Baker Davis. Lot's of people are involved in the production, talented directors and actors whose voices we listen and associate with beloved heroes.
I knew about Peppa in 2010, at Cambridge Conference for English Teachers. And since first series I was fond of this little pig. I often used episodes for my lessons with children and I saw how my students love Peppa. It was success.
For Peppa's sake my little professors did lots of difficult things)
I was amazed how many important things about life and relationships are included in the series. Episodes tend to feature everyday life activities and routines such as attending playgroup in a kindergarten, going swimming, going out to museums and theaters, visiting their grandparents, cousins, going to the playground or going skiing, riding bikes and learning something new. Animals live real human life and share great experience with kids, it's very important. It's very deep. And i love how features of animals are shown in every character, animals make their respective noises when they talk, with some exhibiting other characteristics. Mister Fox is cunning, and he has a good nose. Rabbit Family squeaks and loves carrots, elephants are slow and clever...
Peppa's character is multifaceted and multi-dimensional. She is a real kid with good and bad sides. She is curious, direct, pretty, kind and at the same time selfish, offensive, vulnerable and sometimes rough and angry. She can obey and she can do something extra-ordinary. She sees the world through herself as all children do. Peppa is an average child of 5 yearls old an she can teach us lots of things. Adults in the cartoon, like Peppa's father and mother pigs give great advices and deals situations in right way. Miss Gazel is a perfect teacher. She loves children, she is confident, knows that she can teach, full of energy, she has hobby.
Peppa is a real influencer for children and now it's not only animation, it's the whole industry with books, stickers, souvenirs and even a Theme Park. Peppa Pig World, a family theme park with seven rides, an indoor play zone, a muddy puddles and water splash park was opened in April 2011 in Newforest, Hampshire.
Peepa is alwaysin the centre of scandals. Chinese Authorities ban this cartoon, The Telegraph informs about Peppa scam:"Parents were offered five free tickets to a Peppa Pig theme park in the UK as part of a scam"...
But we have to keep calm and separate the wheat from the chaff. Bright character is bright character, you take the best and don't pay attention to the rest. It' s not necessary to become the part of Peppa Pig commercial Empire. (But frankly speaking I buy books about Peppa and Peppa toys).
Recently I have read that in Australia Peppa was close to be banned several times, for example for the episode "Mister Skinnylegs". It was not appropriate for Australian audiences, since it encouraged befriending spiders. Given the toxicity of some common Australian spiders, the complaint was upheld and the episode was restricted from being aired.
I think that is a good chance to explain children that in the World there different life with different spiders, and that the Peepa life on TV is grotesque, just a variant... I don't judge, just suggest.
So, today I decided to dive into the world of kid's role models and made Peppa toy! My boy was happy.
He has several Peppa toys, but I am proud, mine is favourite one at the moment.
It took me about 6 hours to create felting of Peppa.
