Hanlon's razor states "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity", and it's a good rule of thumb.
But at a certain point, that assumption breaks down if the incompetence is extreme and the actors presumably professionals. I hold onto Occam's and Hanlon's razors longer than most people in my circles, but it's hard to not be sympathetic to some of the conspiratorial takes or at least not dismiss them out of hand, even if I haven't bought in.
Like... sure, the people claiming there was no shooting or that it was orchestrated by Trump for a photo op are completely irrational and insane, but when it comes to some of the others?
