I am a bit stuffed right now as my mother had given me a lot of fruit salad for me to eat. It is so much that my guts is reacting to the cream and condensed milk that is contained in it because I am lactose intolerant.
I did took some phosphate binder of course and some Calcium carbonate so that my body will not get to absorb the phosphorus in that fruit salad.
I only ate some rice and fried catfish and that and finished it all up with some sparkling grape juice. Then I tried to watch some movie here in my laptop and while watching I just have to stop because I am a bit sleepy and so I slept.
I am then awakened by firecrackers going on left and right as it is already nearing the midnight. But the intensity of the firecrackers now is way too low than compared to the previous years because of the incidence of people getting hurt if not getting maimed for life losing a finger or two, a hand, an eye, burns, and sometimes death.
So the current government just banned the production and sales of most firecrackers to curve the damage done especially by the illegal fireworks.
In a way I am missing the old times where a wide variety of fireworks and firecrackers can readily and easily bought anywhere especially when it is nearing the new year because it is really fun to use firecrackers especially if you are younger.
I remember the air is filled with acrid smoke which would last until morning when I was younger because of the extent of the firecrackers let off by the people not to mention tires being burnt in the streets.
Now it is better to be safe than sorry because of the lasting effects of the accidents done to people if there weren't any restrictions and banning of firecrackers.
I also remember when I was younger at new year's eve we would go and watch the news for the victims of legal and illegal firecrackers, from a blown fingertip to a whole hand and it was terrible until the current government banned it all outright because it is just not good to see people especially children then gets poisoned sometimes when some of them try to eat firecrackers made for kids. The welcoming of the new year might be sadder but at least safety should be a number one priority.
